Give yourself the gift of healing with yoga.



       So many of us spend our lives, rushing around in survival mode.  We have bills we have to pay, debts weigh heavy on our minds, and we must rush off to a job we may not enjoy and may find boring, straining, or meaningless.  Add an injury or illness to this already stressful situation and you have a recipe for disaster.  Many people do not feel that they have time to stay home from work, just to rest and heal, so they keep pushing on.  This creates an epidemic of chronic health and wear and tear issues in our bodies.  What is the answer?
        The answer is manifold, but a good part of the solution is simply adding a regular yoga practice to your life.  Many people start with an occaisional class.  This is a good place to start.  You are setting an intention to begin something that is healthy, strengthening, and healing.  You are setting aside time for yourself, time to relax, and reflect on your inner life.  It is important to find a good experienced teacher who can work with you at the level where you are, and gradually build a practice that suits your particular needs.  An individual session is also good especially if you can find a teacher that is familiar with your unique health and healing needs.  I offer this service at a surprisingly affordable rate, and can start you off on a journey that may deeply improve your general wellbeing.
       If you feel you cannot afford regular classes, there are many good books and videos, and the library is a great resource.  However, at least one session with an experienced teacher can help you learn to do the basic practices correctly in order to avoid creating bad habits that may cause more problems for you.  Many yoga practices are gentle, easy, and restorative, and can produce positive results even in a short time, if you are consistant.  As you begin to delve deeper into the teachings, you begin to realize there is so much more to it than the movements and poses.  It is a comprehensive, scientifically developed holistic healing modality. A total lifestyle centered around health, wellbeing and living a good life!  You find bad habits and addictions may simply fall away.  You will find more emotional balance and get less wrapped up in other people's drama.  At the same time you will achieve insights into the interconnectedness of all living beings, and the importance of being involved in your community.  You may find that you are ready to move forward with dreams and goals that had been simmering on the back burner, so that you can find your true purpose and meaning in life.
       When you are hurt or ill, you can reach out and ask for help, and take time for healing.  By the same token, when those you love reach out to you, you will be happy to support and help them.  This is true community.  As we move beyond selfishness and competition, we will be moved to co-create a better world.  Ironically this begins by taking a little time to take care of yourself.  You get to know your body better and accept it lovingly as it is, even as you work toward better health.  You find an inner happiness that does not rely on external conditions.  This can all begin with one yoga class!  Message me and lets talk about it!
